I am privileged to write in support of my dear student XXX. It is my pleasure to recommend her for admission into your postgraduate programme. As a freshman, XXX studied English in my class in 20XX–20XX academic year. Her performance in my class was excellent and outstanding. I would rank her in the top 3% of students that I have taught in the past few years in respect to her English. 

XXX is a conscientious, inquisitive and intelligent student. She was serious with any doubt appeared in the lesson. However insignificant the problem might be, she would ascertain it till she felt satisfactory. She would take advantage of every opportunity to improve her listening and speaking skills in class. Her efforts have resulted in her excellent performance in examinations and obvious improvements in English. 

XXX holds a positive attitude towards her study. At first, she was rather quiet in class. Gradually, I found that, by having discussions with other students and giving presentations, she did make great efforts to break through herself and finally became quite active and innovative in class. She could perfectly accomplish the tasks assigned to her and her work always appeared very well-organized. 

In addition, XXX is a creative and capable girl.  In her second year in Sichuan University, as the assistant of her class, she demonstrated her talent in our annual Foreign Language Drama Festival. Cooperated with her team members, she helped her class win prizes for best play, directing and supporting actor.
